An Arizona food and juice restaurant chain is opening its first Maryland restaurant this summer in Hunt Valley.
Grabbagreen, which specializes in selling grain bowls, salads and healthy smoothies, will occupy a 2,100-square-foot space at the Hunt Valley Towne Centre. The space is located on the first floor of the recently opened Avalon Bay Apartments, and will be next to Echo Frezco, a Mexican restaurant that is also opening this summer.
Grabbagreen touts serving only preservative-free, gluten-free and GMO-free food. The chain says 70 percent of its ingredients are organic. The Hunt Valley location will also offer fresh-pressed juices, acai bowls and special breakfast items.
One of the restaurant’s most popular offerings is the French Quarter bowl, which includes avocado, brown rice, cayenne pepper, red onion, red pepper, shrimp, spinach and cream avocado sauce.
The restaurant was founded in 2013 in Arizona, and has quickly expanded. It currently has 19 locations across 10 states. Grabbagreen also plans to open up two locations in Pennsylvania, one in York and another in Lancaster later this year.
Other restaurants in the Hunt Valley Towne Centre include the Greene Turtle, Coal Fire Pizza, Bar Louie and Chipotle.
The development, owned by Greenberg Gibbons, is anchored by a Wegmans.
